Amazon Web Services offers a broad set of global cloud-based products including compute, storage, databases, analytics, networking, mobile, developer tools, management tools, IoT, security, and enterprise applications: on-demand, available in seconds, with pay-as-you-go pricing.

Region

Region is a separate geographic area.

Availability Zone

Availability Zones are multiple, isolated locations within each Region.

Local Zones provide you the ability to place resources, such as compute and storage, in multiple locations closer to your end users.

Global Infrastructure

The AWS Global Cloud Infrastructure is the most secure, extensive, and reliable cloud platform, offering over 200 fully featured services from data centers globally.

105 Availability Zones within 33 geographic regions, with announced plans for 18 more Availability Zones and six more AWS Regions.
